Not when the dogs bark
Or the kids knock
I have no household chores
The dishes are washed
The trash is tossed
I want to sit on the front porch
With a good book for reading
And a mocha for drinking
I need a card from each kid
And that means the dogs too
Printed all over with 'I love you'
I should go out to eat
Since I can't lift a finger
To figure out dinner
I will stop by my Mom's
To tell her she's awesome
I am because she is a very good Mum.
This post inspired by prompt #5 at Mama's Losin' It!
Simple yet perfect. I've never gotten a card from my dogs, that would be nice.

We here in the UK celebrate Mothers Day in March, I went to visit my son in Spain for the week-end. perfect Mother's Day,
ReplyDeleteHope yours is wonderful.
Yvonne.
Love this! I dream of laying in bed and everyone else managing the dog and breakfast and such without me. And when the dream is over (or when the dog starts his 'please get up I have to pee' barking and whining at 5:36a), I get up and my day begins. I have told my husband every year, the only gift I want for Mother's Day and our anniversary is someone else cleaning out my van - take it in and have the interior cleaned even, if you are feeling particularly thankful for me - maybe THIS is the year it will happen!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't help it, just as when the kids were babies and I heard their waking up cries while my husband slept, I hear the dogs whine, and I can't ignore them! I told my husband this year my dream gift isn't sleeping in (that'ts too far fetched!) but I would love a load of top soil. He groaned. I think he'd rather try the sleeping in gift!
Deletei hope you enjoy your mother's day :)
