D Is For Disguise

I may be going through the drive thru to pick up a breakfast treat for my daughter in my pajamas.  I may not have bothered to brush my hair.  Or my teeth.  Or wash my face.

But it's our spring break day, my one day this week that I don't work and we have a list of things we want to do, starting with a special breakfast.  By the time we decide we are hungry, we are starving.  I can't be bothered to take the time to fix myself up.

Instead,I employ my ready for the day disguise: I pull on a nice jacket, button it up to hid my pajama shirt, smooth my hair back into a messy bun and go.  From the car window, I look decent!

Standing outside of the car, well, at least my daughter was the only one who saw me!

    1. If I have to go into the grocery store for milk or some other essential item, I put on a sweatshirt and yoga pants...hoping I look less like I rolled out of bed and more like I just finished working out!

  2. My husband is a trucker and I have to take him to his truck at 1:30 AM sometimes on Sat., but not before we stop at the drive through for coffee. As we go to bed at 9 and get up at 1:30,I'm still in my jammies with bed head b/c I'm going back to bed. lol

    1. I've had a few of those trips too; usually to pick up kids after a dance. I'm just going back to bed, it's not worth getting dressed!

  3. Listen, this is a perfectly acceptable shortcut for a busy mom to take. At least I HOPE it's perfectly acceptable since I've done it countless times. Frankly, I'm glad to hear you've done it, too--I don't think I could truly be "friends" with someone who hasn't. ;)

  4. I'd love to go out without a bra on sometimes, but just can't bring myself to do it. I'd get pulled over for something and have to get out of the car!
