It's not just about pens and pencils and paper and binders. It's about having the really important stuff on hand, like coffee and creamer.....
My kids aren't big breakfast eaters, so the first day of school won't see me making a special breakfast of eggs and bacon and pancakes, but I can make sure everyone (even me) has a treat on the first day. Now we can all start school off on the right, and hopefully less grouchy, foot!
Nice! We have one more day before the actual first day. No special breakfast here, but both boys have picked out their favorite dinners, one tonight and one tomorrow night!

DeleteFirst day of school here too - - my husband is the only one going back to school this year (not true - my daughter goes back to college on Friday). My poor husband, though, I slept through it and he was gone by the time I was up! He IS a breakfast eater, too, so maybe I should be a good wife and make him breakfast - - tomorrow :) Enjoy your coffee!!

DeleteI hadn't even thought of making a special breakfast. Thursday is my son's first day of kindergarten, so I guess I'd better start thinking about what to cook.

My daughter wondered why I bought the large size creamer....I bought it to make sure I had plenty for myself!
DeleteI must be a really awful mother, no special treats in this house on the first day of school. Those are for the holidays and we are srictly back to normal now :-/
