Preheat oven to 350.
Mix 2 3/4 cups flour, 2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 6 Tbls baking cocoa powder, and 2 cups sugar.
Add 2 cups water, 10 Tbls oil (corn or veggie), and 2 Tbls white vinegar. Mix until combined.
Bake about 35 minutes in 2 greased round pans.
My only advice is do not taste the batter. It is not an indication of how yummy the cake will be!
Michelle - I LOVE YOU!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave you made the cake? Is this your reaction? Oh my ... I made brownies last night. They're gone now, so I might have to try this recipe!
DeleteThanks! My sister stopped by my house last night and found me standing at the counter, with a fork, eating bites right off the cake. It's that good. She said if she had that cake in her house, she'd be doing the same thing!
ReplyDeleteAdding it to my to-try recipes. Have to admit, though, I am a compulsive batter taster so your advice is good to know. At least when I cave to the irresistible urge I will know not to judge the cake by the batter.
ReplyDeleteIt tastes terrible! The first time I made it, I tried a taste (it looks so yummy and no eggs!) and I was horrified. Maybe I'd done something wrong, it tasted so bad! Now I know, it's going to be all right, just resist the urge to taste test the batter!
