Being the househusband in our home, I can honestly say that I have never seen my tub sparkle, nor my floors shine. The claw bathtub was already ancient, before I salvaged it from a neighbor's field, having served as a horse trough, for an undetermined period of time, before being refurbished by yours truly, and installed thirty years ago, come this summer. After I am done sweeping, mopping, and cleaning the tub, the only sparkle I see comes from Annie's eyes, as she looks around, smiles, and says, "Nice."
When my husband was deployed a few years ago, I stripped linoleum, glue and years of varnish off our hardwood floors, sanded and re-varnished them. When clean, the floors can still produce that lovely shine!
I love it when my tub sparkles! Although I confess I hate housework. I want a sparkly house just by clicking my heels together :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I have never hated it. Sometimes tired of it, though!
DeleteI love shiny floors. And fresh sheets, dusted tables, vacuumed sofa cushions and swept porches.
ReplyDeleteI once overheard my daughter say as she came in from school, "Ahhh the house smells so good. I love it when Mom's been home all day by herself."
made it all worth it.
My kids say the same thing!
