Be good and be careful
Are the words I say
As I send the kids off
Into the world each day
Be good to yourself
And to each fellow man
Treat all with kindness
Lend help when you can
Be careful please too
Don't take drugs or strange candy
Look both ways before crossing
Avoid vans and dark alleys
Be good and be careful
The kids've heard it before
They wink and they nod
As they head out the door
With a casual "Of course"
And a "No worries, Mom"
They take off untroubled
While I try to stay calm!
The daily seperation so eloquently put!
